Scion A/V Presents: TELEPHONED - HOLD ME

Over two years and two mixtapes, Sammy Bananas and Maggie Horn’s dance project Telephoned has developed a reputation as a high-concept cover band that brings pop songs into the realm of cutting edge dance music. After flipping some of the biggest hits in recent history, the Fool’s Gold-signed duo has started writing originals, beginning with “Hold Me,” out now on Scion A/V.

1. “Hold Me (7” Mix)”
“Hold Me” is a sparkly love song tinged with the sound of UK funky. A love letter sent across a high speed wireless connection, this is futuristic glitter pop to the max.
2. “Hold Me (Cover Version)”
Continuing on the concept that Telephoned was founded on, the group decided to create a cover version of their own original song as well. Highlighting the truth that good songwriting works in all contexts, this version lands somewhere between mild country and late ’90s, mid-FM dial sensitive rock.
3. “Hold Me (Original)”
Like the 7” Mix, but, you know, longer.
